What is the Jersey Arts List Exchange & Audience Census?

The Jersey Arts List Exchange & Audience Census is a community patron database comprised of data from participating nonprofit New Jersey arts organizations. The purpose of the project is to examine consumer behavior through comparative market analysis; simplify mailing list exchanges; share list hygiene expenses; and identify a targeted, qualified and focused group of arts consumers.
Audience
How can my organization get involved?
Your organization is welcome to participate in the project, whether you choose to share data for marketing purposes or simply wish to benefit from the research that can be made available to you about your own patrons.

Currently our community database is comprised of nearly 1 million households... and it's growing!

Free open enrollment closed on January 10, 2012. However, groups may still join the List Exchange for 2012 with a $150 registration fee. We also offer a variety of maintenance plans to fit organizations both large and small.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS
“The Jersey Arts List Exchange provides my theatre with marketing intelligence on our patrons that would cost me thousands of dollars to acquire any other way. It also serves as the cornerstone of my direct mail campaigns and helps to keep direct mail the most cost-effective way for us to market our productions to arts-savvy patrons throughout the region. This project saves me time and money, period.”

Rick Engler
Director of Marketing,
The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey

"The List Exchange is a powerful marketing tool for our performing arts center. We continue to learn about our patrons' buying habits, allowing us to create effective and efficient marketing campaigns. From a budgetary standpoint, we no longer have the additional mail house costs of running list merges and the National Change of Address on our database. That is all part of the package -- there's just no downside to the List Exchange"

Scott Sullivan
Director of Marketing & Communications,
SOPAC, South Orange Performing Arts Center

"We’ve been blown away by how much we’re learning about our own patrons! The more time we spend with the data, the more we realize just how much marketing intelligence we have at our disposal. In fact, we plan to start using the List Exchange a lot more aggressively for targeting donors this year.”

Mary Eileen Fouratt
Executive Director,
Monmouth County Arts Council

“We get a tremendous response from the lists we create through the Jersey Arts List Exchange for our direct mail campaigns. The online eMerge system is quick and easy to learn and, once you get the hang of it, it’s amazing how much information you suddenly have available at your fingertips. We use the demographic search all the time.”

Dee Billia
Director of Marketing,
Appel Farm Arts & Music Center
